"Music That Matters"

Sept. 7, 2010

Help us save lives with the song/video "Black And White Rainbows"

Since its star studded song/video production with “The Dave Thomas Foundation” for project “God Bless The Children” (Wayne Warner, Taylor Swift, The Statler Brother, Elvis's famous Jordanaires and many more), The Melodical Hearts Foundation has gone on to address subjects that so urgently need to be highlighted with the power of music and video.

Our new effort is to engage the same power in the fierce battle against the forces of drugs and alcohol which are victimizing and enslaving the youth of America. Produced with the help of many school officials, The song/video "BLACK AND WHITE RAINBOWS" is powerful, sad and emotionally produced to make a lasting impression and using the forum of music to reach young eyes and ears in a fashion otherwise void of the message.

Our goal is to get this message out without costs to schools and organizations. Many schools have shown this in an assembly or classroom approach. Please consider adding your name or company (or the name of a loved one lost ) to the credits of this DVD for a $100.00 donation or send any gift possible as we unite to save lives. No amount is too small.

July 15, 2009

It's been two months since an update, and for that I apologize. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all of the exciting things that come our way, but I will do my best to fill you in at this time.

First, the "Music That Matters: Pennsylvania" CD/DVDs were sent out a few weeks ago. To those who have tried to place orders recently, we are still working with PayPal to get our account fixed. We hope to have the store up and running again within the next week or two. I know this has been frustrating for many of you, and it is just as frustrating for us, as we want all of this music to be heard NOW! We do not like having to wait, so this issue is not one that has been overlooked or forgotten, I assure you.

The "Music That Matters: Kentucky/Virginia/West Virginia" edition is also coming along nicely and should be wrapped up soon. We are waiting to receive information from just a few more participating artists, then mastering will begin.

We also received our second radio sponsor for the project! WXCC has joined us to help make MUSIC THAT MATTERS. Thank you to the folks at WXCC and our other radio sponsor, WDHR for your support!

While we wrap up the "Kentucky/Virginia/West Virginia" edition of our statewide projects, we have also opened up "New York/Maryland/Delaware/New Jersey." Artists and bands are currently being added by invitation only, and we are thrilled to discover that we are gaining such a positive reputation for these projects. As we have worked out some kinks, they are certainly getting easier!

Now for what I feel is the most exciting news of all. After dedicating all of our past works to foster care and adoption, we are increasing our range to include other prominent issues that affect our society negatively. We know that foster care/adoption, while needing MAJOR attention, is not something everyone can relate to, so we hope to increase interest and support as we venture into alcohol and drug abuse/addiction awareness. This is something that has, in some way, played a role in every person's life, whether you know someone who has had a problem with alcohol or drugs, someone you love was killed by a driver under the influence, or maybe it's something you personally battled. It has touched us all.

We also aim to have more input and participation from those who have lost loved ones to this and want to assist in memorializing those who have been killed by this epidemic while bringing awareness to the cause. Please see the letter from Wayne Warner, the founder of Melodical Hearts, in regards to this request for assistance.

And I believe that brings everything up to speed. I again ask you to read Wayne's letter and find out how you can help bring attention to the drug and alcohol epidemic that is rapidly destroying families and prematurely ending lives of amazing people. This is not something open to musicians only; we are seeking anyone who has lost someone to this evil, be it directly or indirectly.

Thank you, as always, for your support!

Several members of the Melodical Hearts team have gathered in the Nashville studio once again, this time to put the finishing touches on the song "50 Files". This ballad and upcoming video will be a part of a state-by-state campaign for foster care/adoption awareness in unity with the nation's best singers and bands. It will also be the title song of an additional feature album with an incredible line-up consisting of Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Jimmy Fortune of the Statler Brothers, Steven Curtis Chapman, Taylor Swift, and many more.

(Grammy-nominated producer/engineer T.W. Cargile towers behind Keenan Warner, Wayne Warner, co-producer Korene Silvestri, and publicist Lisa Lacheny)

While the project has been the subject of many delays and set-backs, Wayne feels "the children in need, as well as those who work in the field, deserve this to be the best that it can be."

We are certainly proud of the end result and invite you to listen to this preview of "50 Files". It will be making its full debut on the "Music That Matters: New England" 3-disc compilation, to be released in the next several weeks.

January 10, 2009

Happy New Year, friends!

Today finds me sitting in the studio with Wayne, previewing the anticipated “Music That Matters: New England” compilation. As a southern girl through and through, I confess that my abhorrence for snow initially prevented me from being fully thrilled with the idea of traveling to the white-blanketed landscapes of Vermont, but I find it surprisingly peaceful listening to the music submitted by the wonderful artists of New England as the snow falls outside the window. The appropriateness of this picturesque scene is not lost on me.

As the publicist for Melodical Hearts, I’ve heard the excited raves from some of our co-producers regarding the songs contributed to the project but have never had direct exposure to any of it until now. And what I hear at this moment is an astounding blend of styles from a wide array of amazingly talented musicians. I’m sincerely impressed with the melodious gifts such a diverse group of people has brought to the project, and this is certainly one that EVERYONE involved should be proud of. Hearing it all come together in this manner has amplified my eagerness and confidence in these missions we are all trying to achieve.

The thrill certainly doesn’t end at the mastering process, though; we are already in the planning stages of the “Love Travels” tour which will find many of these talented musicians sharing the stage with popular Nashville artists in an “in the round” format. It’s going to be a fun ride, and I hope that all of you will be traveling that road with us.

While I rave about the tremendous musical abilities our New England participants possess, I think it is very important for me to point out to our Pennsylvania artists they have NOT been forgotten! Mastering for our Pennsylvania edition will take place soon, and I’m eager to rejoin the Melodical Hearts team and listen to what has been submitted. Furthermore, we will also start accepting artists/bands for the states of Kentucky and Ohio within the coming weeks. I have no doubts that ALL of these projects will soon take off, only gaining momentum with time. This is more than an opportunity to be on an album with high-profile Nashville recording artists; it is also an opportunity to possibly tour with them, to potentially share the stage with them, and to increase your own exposure by networking with the other participating local artists, thus opening the doors to even more performances and radio exposure. It’s a chance to make your own dreams come true while simultaneously contributing to a meaningful cause.

We appreciate your patience as we have worked some kinks out of this process and assure you that once you receive your copies of the CDs, you will indeed be pleased with the outcome.

Many thanks to the incredible artists who have joined us in this crusade to make MUSIC THAT MATTERS!

Greetings from the studio! We are currently in Nashville recording the title track for the "50 Files" project and are thrilled with how well it is coming. It has been a real joy watching Wayne's vision transform from words scribbled on a notepad into such incredible harmonization blended with his lyrically impassioned message. He strives to give a voice to the children in need of one, and what a powerful voice it is becoming! We can not wait until it's completed and we are able to share this with everyone. Pre-orders will be made available here on the site very soon, so be sure to reserve your copy of the "Music That Matters: 50 Files" CD/DVD combo!

Also, each state will be represented by a child in the "50 Files" video, so if you know of anyone in your state that has adopted and would like to have their child's photo on the video, please have them contact Juanita Lee as soon as possible at juanitalee@melodicalhearts.org!

As we wrap up the studio session today, I ask that you spread the word regarding the "50 Files" project and this web site to everyone you know. With so many children being deprived of the loving homes and families they each deserve, we can not afford to allow this message to go unheard.

Thank you as always for the support; we will continue to update throughout production.
